The Farm

We moved to France ten years ago and Keranmeriet is now our home.  Our aim has always been to make it a relaxing and friendly place to stay and as we live on the farm we are always around to give you any advice or information you may need whilst on holiday here.

The Farm is set in 100 acres that is a protected environment and we are surrounded by our own fields and woods.  It is a peaceful spot and a great place to unwind and get away from the stresses of a busy life.

The Farm is arable and we generally have wheat or corn crops in the fields during the summer months, we also do the haymaking during May or June.  We have a few animals on the farm, Fizz our Golden Retriever, two Cats, some Chickens, Ducks and Turkeys.

All our land is accessible and great for walking, children love it as they have so much freedom to be able to play, climb trees and build dens.  Just a five minute walk takes you down through the woods and into the secluded meadow which is a great sun trap in the summer.  There is a pond here with a small island in the middle that you can clamber over logs onto, great for a picnic.  There are also a couple of picnic tables around the pond for you to use, a perfect place for a glass of wine in the evenings.  If you like fishing we have stocked the pond with Rainbow Trout and just charge for any fish you catch, ideal for your BBQ.  We also have a selection of fishing nets and buckets for children to go searching for pond life.

The river Aven meanders through the meadow and borders the land for about 1km, it is also great for children to go paddling and netting in.  You can follow the river further downstream and after about 1km you will come across a water mill that has recently been renovated.

We are conveniently located 2 minutes from Rosporden, which is a busy market town with lots of shops, bakeries and supermarkets.

Lots of other attractions are also within easy reach, which means that you won’t have to drive to far to go sightseeing.  The miles of beautiful beaches are only 15 minutes away and you could visit a different one everyday of your holiday and still not have seen them all.
