In 2002 we bought the Farm from M. et Mme Le Saux, now our our neighbours and French family, it is about two hundred years old and had remained in the same family for three generations. When we first visited, it was a working Dairy Farm with a herd of 50 Friesians Cows and about 100 acres. We decided to make it our home and moved to France with our family in 2003. In 2007 we had completed the renovation of the old Milking Barn into five Cottages, the old farmhouse into a cottage and the old dairy into another. Each one has been sympathetically converted ensuring that all the original granite and wood features have remained. We continually aim to ensure that Keranmeriet is a relaxing place for guests to stay and experience life in Brittany.
All the Cottages have a panoramic views over the farm and the surrounding picturesque countryside. They also overlook their own private garden and terrace, that is separated from the cottage next door with fencing and bamboo hedging.
As our Cottages are different sizes they cater for most family groups, but in addition they are ideal for families and friends who wish to go on holiday together but still like their own space. Special rates can be arranged for larger groups and repeat bookings outside of high season.
One of our Cottages the Dairy has been renovated to allow guests with disabilities and is all on one level with a wet room style bathroom with handrails. The cottages vary in sizes, either with one, three or four bedrooms and they all have an individual layout. Each one has been furnished in a different colour scheme and for more photos and details on the interiors just click on the cottage name above.
To keep our rental costs down we don’t include linen/towels, so you have the option to rent ours for a small fee or bring your own.
From 2019 we have to take payment for the Tourist Tax imposed by our local Mayor, this is approx .80 cents per adult per night.
We have free WIFI in all the Cottages.
We have tried to make our Cottages a home from home and provide many of the facilities that we like to have when we go on holiday. We also put a selection of toys, books, magazines, indoor and outdoor games in all the cottages. In addition we offer free of charge a Baby Pack that includes; highchairs, travel cots, baby crib, baby bath, stair gates, change mats, sterilisers, baby alarms, potties, toilet stool, buggy and even paddling pools.
We have installed a heating system in the Pool to keep the pool temperature around 26 degrees, great for toddlers.
Rates
You will find the rates and availability for each Cottage are on the relevant Cottage page. The prices on our calendar are based on a weekly rate and are from Saturday to Saturday, outside of July and August we can be flexible on the arrival day and the number of days you wish to stay with a minimum period of 5 days. If the period you have selected is not available then please contact us or you can also look at the availability on the pages for the other Cottages.
In June and September when The Dairy is fully booked please contact us for reduced rates in the larger Cottages for families of 4 or less.
