Quimper

Quimper is the oldest city in France and well worth a visit, only 20 minutes drive. The 13th -15th century Cathedral has recently been renovated and has beautiful fretwork and stained glass windows. There are a myriad of shops and restaurants to explore, not to mention the many narrow streets. It lies on the river Odet and you can catch a ferry to the Islands of Glenan from here.
