Megalithic Stones

The alignments of Carnac form the largest megalithic site in the world.  They were erected around 4 500 B.C. and it is generally accepted that they had a religous role.  The site is spread over 4kms and the stones are in lines, the largest site has 1099 stones and the tallest is 4m high.  It is an amazing sight and well worth a visit.  It takes about an hours drive.
