What to See & Do in the Area
There are many places to visit whilst you holiday with us, too numerous to mention. Below are just a few. each cottage contains an information pack with all the attractions in our area for your perusal.
Quimperle

Quimperle sits in a narrow valley dominated by two high
banks, where the rivers Isole and Elle meet. It is also the start of the
river Laita. It is a historic town with many places of interest to visit.

Festivals
There is a whole calendar of events throughout the year in Brittany, celebrating the rich and historic culture of the Breton people. Each one is different and gives a real insight into French lifestyle, past and present. Below are three of the larger festivals near to us, but you could come and visit one of the more unusual. In October there is a Pumpkin Festival that is on the whole weekend. Festival of Cournaouille.

Scaer Festival - All the local people build floats to parade through the town to music, it is a colourful start to May. This is the third biggest carnavel in France and lasts for two days.
Cornaouille Festival - The festival of Cornaouille is a celebration of Breton culture and is held over nine days in July. There are a variety of events, which can be booked on their website; You can watch a parade or sit and listen to a performance with Breton Bagpipes.
Filet Bleu Festival - This festival is held in August in Concarneau and dates back to 1905. It was originally started to help local fishermen who were having a Sardine crisis. Again there are parades, Breton Bagpipes and Bombardons, (French pipes). |
Leisure Park

If you are looking for a change from the beach there are
plenty of other attractions close by. For the children there are several fun
parks that will entertain them for the whole day. There are also many
museums showing the rich and varied Breton culture. Oceanapolis is well
worth a visit to take a view on life under the sea. |

Sea Cruises and Boat Trips

Take a cruise on a boat to the Glenn archipelago to view a
corner of paradise on aboat to Glenan Islands. Or if you prefer something a little more adventurous you can go fishing with some local fishermen. There are also many other Islands that you can visit by boat or if you would like a more leisurely cruise why not take a trip along the picturesque and Belon Rivers. |
Golf and Spa
For golf lovers there are several golf courses near by and for those who prefer a more relaxing day how about visiting a local Spa.

Attractions Nearby - Walks
There are many beautiful coastal paths to explore within a short drive of Keranmeriet and you can choose from a short walk or take a packed lunch and walk all day. There are also lots of paths along the rivers and in the woods; we would be happy to recommend routes should you wish.
